Service Description: A registered charity that provides information, support and encouragement to women who wish to breastfeed or are currently breastfeeding * mothers are encouraged to attend meetings before the baby's birth and continue until weaning.

Serves those who:
  • are expecting a baby and want to know more about breastfeeding
  • are already breastfeeding and want help with challenges
  • need information on starting solids or weaning
  • want to meet other breastfeeding moms to share support and experiences
    Mothers are encouraged to attend meetings before the baby's birth and continue until weaning.

Breastfeeding prenatal classes are available where partners or support person to the mother are encouraged to attend.

Burlington group provides mother-to-mother support * leader is an experienced nursing mother with up-to-date breastfeeding knowledge and training

Meeting topics include benefits of breastfeeding for both mom and baby * avoiding, identifying and overcoming breastfeeding difficulties * optimizing position and latch * adjusting to life with a breastfed baby * breastfed baby behaviour
