Service Description: Collision Reporting Centres allow drivers involved in less-serious motor vehicle collisions to complete mandatory collision reports and have vehicle damage documented in a timely and efficient manner.
  • provides an alternative to police attending non-injury, non-criminal collisions
  • documents and photographs vehicle damage and applies damage stickers
  • completes the Motor Vehicle Collision (MVC) report and facilitates contact with insurance companies
  • requires drivers to bring their damaged vehicle and required identification during business hours
  • supports online pre-reporting to speed up CRC visits

Application:

  • Begin the collision report online before visiting

  • Exchange information with all involved parties and witnesses

  • Bring all required documents to the CRC

  • Attend with the damaged vehicle (driven or towed) as soon as possible

Eligibility / Target Population:


  • Individuals involved in a collision with combined damage over $5,000 and no injuries

  • All involved drivers must attend unless directed otherwise by police



Exceptions (Police Attendance Required)



  • Injury or death

  • Criminal activity (impaired driving, stolen vehicle, assault)

  • Dangerous goods transport involved

  • Collision with municipal/provincial/federal vehicle

  • Damage to private/municipal/highway property

  • Pedestrian or cyclist involved

  • Uncooperative driver or failure to exchange information
