Service Description: Community based-volunteer driven organization of volunteer crisis support workers * provides crisis support, practical assistance, information and referral programs to victim of crime, tragic circumstance and disaster * emergency response personal may call on the program to provide immediate assistance or to recommend the victim to the agency

Crisis intervention program/telephone service * provides immediate assistance to people experiencing emotional distress * aims to defuse the crisis, ensure the person's safety, and assist the person with taking steps to resolve the problem * supports include supportive counselling, safety planning, and referrals to community resources or services for ongoing assistance * crisis support may also be provided by telephone

Mobile Emergency Response System (MERS): private-public sector alliance involving Victim Services Agencies and GPS Services Provider * enabled intervention strategy * client must be a resident of Haldimand/Norfolk/New Credit and made a complaint to police of physical violence or threats of violence

Victim Quick Response Program (VQRP): provide immediate support services to victims and aim to increase immediate safety of victims of violent crime *financial assistance for: funeral expenses, counselling services, emergency expenses, transportation costs, emergency home repairs, emergency childcare / dependent care for elderly or special need dependents, emergency accommodation and meals and crime scene cleanup * no direct reimbursement to victims

Safe Bed/Residential Crisis Services - Short-term residential crisis assessment and stabilization program for individuals and families in need of emergency accommodation * assists people in emotional distress by providing a therapeutic environment * crisis counselling and support services * voluntary alternative to hospitalization * long-term housing solution provided by Salvation Army Housing Advocate

Safety Planning - Outlines the specific steps needed to be taken to protect or remove oneself from abusive or harmful situations * suicide safety planning lists personal strategies people may use when contemplating hurting or ending their life * safety planning with contact lists of loved ones, safe places to go, or telephone numbers for crisis or suicide prevention hotlines/helplines
