Physiotherapists use a variety of therapies, such as exercise, heat, cold, electricity, ultraviolet, water and massage, to improve circulation, strengthen muscles, reduce pain and restore mobility to people debilitated by an accident or illness. Physiotherapists work in hospitals, private clinics and patients' homes. The profession is regulated under the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
