Service Description: Support, orientation and temporary accommodation for Government Assisted Refugees during their initial days in Canada

Services include:
  • financial orientation, opening bank accounts
  • introduction to rights and responsibilities
  • assistance securing permanent accommodation
  • applying for utilities
  • obtaining official documents such as Social Insurance Number
  • connecting with provincial and federal programs

Client Support Services: Services for individuals following their work with Resettlement Assistance Program * case management during first year in Canada

Services include:
  • home visits
  • coordination of medical and other appointments
  • connection to language training
  • continued assistance with government applications and documents

    Eligibility / Target Population: Government Assisted Refugees within 4-6 weeks of arrival to Hamilton * Client Support Services within a year of arrival
