Service Description: Social, recreational, and therapeutic activities for people with aphasia (communication difficulties related to a brain injury or stroke) * services may include:
  • therapeutic conversation groups
  • speech language pathology
  • support groups

Eligibility / Target Population: Medically stable adults 18 years and older with aphasia due to stroke or injury to the brain who live in the community or retirement home setting * must be willing to participate in supportive conversation groups * must demonstrate appropriate behaviour in a social group setting * must have no or minimal cognitive difficulties * client care needs (i.e. toileting, feeding) are met by client or caregiver
