Service Description: Regional government department supporting vulnerable residents * services include:

Homelessness and Community Engagement - Responsible for coordinating the the system of homelessness services in Niagara, providing emergency social services in times of crisis. It also oversees the department’s community engagement activities to support effective and positive partnerships

Children's Services - Provide financial assistance for eligible families * support for children who may be at risk of a developmental delay or have diagnosed special needs * provide a general operating and wage enhancement grants to service providers to support operations and staff employed in licensed child care programs * operate 5 licensed child care centres * manages EarlyON Child and Family Centres and home child care

Housing Services Division - Provides a spectrum of low-income housing options in Niagara through a combination of legislated programs and services

Seniors Services - Provides compassionate care for residents and clients through a range of integrated programs and partnerships including wellness, outreach and residential programs supporting the well-being of seniors and eight long-term care homes

Social Assistance and Employment Opportunities - Provides financial assistance and a range of employment supports and activities, in partnership with community agencies, to enable participants to achieve independence through sustainable employment
